FAQ

expand_more How do I get my AP credit from high school on my DegreeWorks?

If you earned college, AP, or IB credit in high school, you must request an official transcript be sent to the Office of Admissions from the governing institution. Example: If a student scored a 5 on their AP exam, they would need to order official scores from College Board to be sent to the Office of Admissions here at Oneonta.

expand_more Why don’t I see my credit from previous institutions on my DegreeWorks?

You may not see credit from a previous institution for a few reasons. Consider the following:

  1. If you recently submitted your transcript, SUNY Oneonta may be in the process of evaluating the credit. If after a few weeks you haven’t seen any changes to your record, reach out to the Office of Admissions to ensure they have received your transcript. If you earned the credit while you were a student at SUNY Oneonta, the transcript must be sent to the Registrar’s Office. Note:If you see TIP on your Degree Works, your transfer credit is in progress. If you sent a transcript before your final grades were posted, you’ll need to send an additional transcript once your grades are in.
  1. You may not have earned credit. Review our AP Scores to determine if your AP scores satisfy requirements for college credit.

No. Only credit earned at SUNY Oneonta will factor into your Oneonta GPA.

It depends. If you earned credit for a course (D- or better), you cannot retake the course at another institution.
